Eye color

I have many favorite scenes from my novel "No Ravens Fly in Heaven," but this one is just special—it brilliantly, accurately, and beautifully depicts Raven Ameer's eyes; and it's done by a secondary character! How fucking interesting is that?

It's most likely the only eyewitness, and whatever he's got to say is crucial, but the way he's kneeling down doesn't seem promising at all. Matthew approaches the dazed man, who's clothed in a newly tattered suit thanks to Raven's last dance. 

"I've been told you're the only survivor who had a close encounter with Raven Ameer before he left the nightclub—is that right?" Matthew asks.

The man—with a shivering soul and motionless body—responds with dying vocals, "Yes."

"Was there anything interesting that you remember?"

"His eyes."

"What about them?"

"That color...was out of this Earth." The man, while revisualizing the carnage Raven did, continues, "His eyes had the redness of rubies, greenness of emerald, and the darkness of an abominable devil."
